Skookum Skillz is a free 12-week training program for youth (between the ages of 16-22) to build skills and enhance their confidence through a well-supported training and work experience program.
Youth put their skills into practice at Skookum Food + Coffee, a social enterprise launched in November 2013 by Pacific Centre Family Services Association to provide a supportive environment for youth to gain employment experience and build their resume.
The training includes:
- Food Safe
- Barista skills
- Customer service
- Knife skills,
- Food preparation
- First Aid.

Watch for the return of fresh, quality food and beverages in the cafe, or book their catering services. You'll be supporting youth in our community with opportunities to build relationships, skills, self-esteem and experience.
