Let’s create Your volunteer opportunity!


West Shore Better at Home is currently looking to fill the following volunteer positions:

Drivers 2+ hours per month, flexible week days.

Assist older adults to get to medical appointments, grocery shopping or coffee social.

Locations within the West Shore or from West Shore to Victoria and / or return.


Ability to assist older adults in/out of vehicle, familiar with use and transport of light weight walker. Patience and respect for our older adults.

Clear driver’s abstract, 3 million liability insurance, reliable, insured vehicle.

Your time will help West Shore Better at Home support seniors to fill their fridge with groceries and to minimize their worry about getting to appointments.



Coffee Social Hosts 2 ½ hours per month, 2nd or 4th Wednesday, 9:45am-12:15 at Skookum Food and Bistro in Colwood.


Serve and Enjoy great coffee/tea and treats with a lively group of seniors. Volunteers maintain fluidity of conversation and safety. Maintain record of group activity. Volunteers assist with serving of beverages and treats and communicate with the Bistro staff. Volunteers have patience and respect for seniors and be able to carry/set up/take down of table and chairs, independently.

Your time will enhance the social connection between seniors, helping them to build new friendships within their community.


*All positions require: application, interview, orientation, criminal record check and a minimum 3 month commitment
