Better at Home West Shore invites seniors to a learning session: Refresh your driving skills for today's traffic

Sheila Fiorin of Roadmasters Safety Group will cover a wide range of skills:

  • Road markings-White/Yellow line and signage
  • Driving with two feet
  • School Zone changes
  • Shoulder Checks
  • Right of Way Situations-what is a right of way?
  • Improper Left turn-Wheel position making a left turn
  • Slower reaction time and decision making
  • Picking up passengers with consideration to mobile devices
  • Vehicle Care
  • Navigating new Bike Lanes
  • Calming circles
  • New Routes

An 8-week group for girls attending middle school who are experiencing challenges to their quality of life.

The group will provide opportunities to receive social and emotional support while participating in creative activities.

Two intern facilitators will lead a themed and planned group each week, complete with art activities, grounding exercises, and discussion opportunities.

Girls will be supported to share their questions, hesitations, concerns, and successes within a safe and respectful environment.
 
When: 3:30 – 5:15 pm on Tuesdays, starting January 22nd until March 12th
