Volunteer in the Community you live West Shore Volunteer opportunity.

Pacific Centre Family Services is looking to build their pool of Volunteers for Friendly Visitors for the Westshore Better at Home Program and Drivers for the Westshore Better at Home Program and the View Royal Volunteer First Pilot Project.

By getting involved, your help allows a senior to maintain their independence and stay connected with their community.

FRIENDLY VISITOR:

Visit a senior in the community you live. We are looking for Older adults who would like to Volunteer to spend time with a Older adult. Visit may include conversations on;local history, seniors concerns and issues over Tea at seniors home or walk to local coffee shop. Volunteers must have patience and enjoy spending time with an Older adult. An interest or experience in helping seniors would be an asset. Better at Home West Shore provides non-medical supports for seniors living in Langford and Colwood. No driving involved during Friendly Visits.

DRIVERS

VFor transports Monday, Tuesdays, Wednesday and Fridays. Driver uses their own vehicle to assist older adults, door to door for medical appointments or grocery shopping to locations within Greater Victoria and West Shore. Your time will help Better at Home West Shore and View Royal Volunteer First support seniors to fill their fridge with groceries and to help minimize their worry about getting to appointments.
