Project Parent
What We’re About
Project Parent is an intensive, 8 month, community based parenting program for parents with young children. Referrals to the program are made by the Ministry of Children and Family Development for families who they consider to be "at risk". We strengthen families by providing education, information, support, & advocacy.
Parents & their children attend the program twice a week, 5 hours a day. The program is designed with the input of the families, and focuses upon strengthening parenting practices and personal development.
The program encourages positive parent/child interaction as a foundation for building healthy families. Assessments and treatment plans are individualized and developed in conjunction with parents, and staff. These plans are consistent with the goals of the risk assessment, completed by the Ministry of Children and Family Development
